Your thoughts, feelings, and sensations are the waves of the ocean - coming and going. There are big strong waves and there are soft gentle waves; they are all water and all part of the ocean.

Why do people prefer Online Therapy/Counselling than in-person?

Online Therapy and Counselling has been around for along time, but became more known during the Covid-19 Pandemic of 2020. Since then, it has been the option many people choose over the traditional way of receiving therapy in person for it’s convenience, efficiency, cost-effectiveness and production of less hassle-time for people requiring therapy from In-person sessions. The online platform also provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ for client resources electronically which often becomes forgotten or lost, when provided by hand to the client in-person by the therapist/counsellor.

Things to go over before starting your first session:

  • Make sure you have high-speed internet, or wifi

  • Ensure that you have completed your intake form & have read and understood policies for review such as attendance, payment, and informed consent

  • Bring a paper and pen, in case you want to take notes from your session

Common Issues that come up in Online Counselling:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Loneliness

  • Grief/Loss/Bereavement

  • Addiction

  • Sexuality

  • Death and Dying

  • Chronic Pain or Illness

  • Separation

  • Family Conflict

  • Relationship Issues

If online counselling is not for you, be sure to ask your therapist about telephone counselling. We offer this service at M&O as well for our clients who prefer this option.
